My Story

me age 6My story begins in the deep south in a family with all the privileges of dysfunction and material well being.  My first recollection of my spiritual nature as a child came to me in a sacred instant, sitting in a tree, turtle doves cooing, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, and the smell of magnolia wafting through the air.  In that eternal moment, I realized my aliveness and my presence even though at that age I could never have described it as such.

All I knew was that I was here and aware of that awareness: a part of the whole symphony in which I found myself; not separate from the nature all around me.  I knew at that time that I would never forget the moment and I never have.

As a young child, I felt let down by people and decided to strike out on my own as a seeker of kindness, goodness and love.  I wanted to believe that there was a safe place to be me, but I was met with challenge and frustration. I began to doubt my own intuition, yet I held onto an inner light that guided me through immense turmoil in the form of childhood sexual abuse, psychological abuse, family alcoholism and horrific parent alienation.

I was greatly influenced by music all around me, the jazz records, the great spirituals, my church choir of which I was a part my entire youth, my singing grandmother and finally my beloved piano lessons.  I became a professional classical pianist with postgraduate degrees in performance and an amazing career graced with illustrious teachers.  Music fed my Soul and my Being .

It was a completely transforming experience in which my disciplined practice created a vehicle to heartfelt expression.

It was my first glimpse into experiencing the synthesis of the body, the emotions and the mind, something I would later come to understand as the Three Centers. Little did I know that my spiritual self study would involve consciously, intentionally, and objectively noticing the interaction of these centers to experience an indescribable freedom.

I found meditation and practical awareness under the guidance of Master Teachers from various schools of transformation as a means of relieving performance stress onstage.  These practices led me to understand how to have real choice in my life, how to recognize self sabotage and how to have freedom from “my story”.

I understood what it was to be a co-creator of my destiny instead of a victim of my fate.

I could have healthy relationships and a good marriage. I knew that once I experienced this freedom, it was my obligation to show others how to access it too.  The Awareness School, an esoteric environment for advanced seekers grew out of many years of teaching these unique methods.

My endeavors in business and entrepreneurship allowed me to show others how to have confidence, build teams, and stay inspired under the most trying of circumstances.  I am able to easily show people how to dream, how to follow their visions, and how to stay disciplined and be inspired.

If you ask anyone about my strongest qualities, they will tell you that I am highly motivated and tenacious.  I embrace every endeavor with passion and commitment and that is what led me to great success as a recording artist, meditation mentor, motivational coach, public speaker and writer.

  4. Howdy this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
